With the goal of keeping their students safe, even at home, Channahon School District is teaming up with Detective Sgt. Dave Margliano, Will County state's attorney's office's chief investigator of computer crimes, to teach parents how to make sure their children are safe from sexual predators online.

Although the Internet is a helpful tool for children, child predators use it to locate their victims. A survey conducted by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children revealed that one in seven youths between the ages of 10 and 17 has received unwanted sexual solicitations online.
